SwiftMiner 1.44
SwiftMiner 1.44 introduces a redesigned login experience for new users after Twitch retired the sign-in method SwiftMiner previously relied on. Getting started now uses Twitch’s own website inside SwiftMiner, with your first account becoming the Operator that helps discover Drops campaigns for your other accounts.
🔑 Why we redesigned login
- Twitch’s change stopped new users from connecting accounts through SwiftMiner’s previous Android sign-in method. This release rebuilds the setup flow so new users can get started again, and new accounts and invitations can connect.
- For a fresh installation, your first account signs in on Twitch’s own website in a browser inside SwiftMiner. You complete Twitch’s normal login and any two-factor prompts there; your password goes directly to Twitch.
- Before finishing setup, SwiftMiner checks that the account can access the Drops campaign dashboard and inventory, then saves it as your Operator account.
🐝 How additional accounts work now
- Your Operator supplies the full Drops campaign catalogue to your other miners. SwiftMiner renews its Twitch security check in the background and explains when the account needs attention, with a Reconnect Twitch button if needed.
- Additional accounts, including friends joining through SwiftBot or the web dashboard, connect through Twitch’s TV-app activation flow. Each account still earns and claims its own rewards using its own Twitch session.
- TV-app accounts can search live Drops streams when the Operator is unavailable. They check priority games first and mine your priority games plus games Twitch already shows as linked to the account.
- This release also fixes campaign discovery for these new sign-ins. SwiftMiner now uses the correct live category URLs and resolves streamer names before checking Drops, preventing missed campaigns that could leave a miner incorrectly showing “Up to Date”.
✅ What existing users need to know
- Accounts already connected to SwiftMiner keep their working sign-in and do not need to log in again just because of this redesign.
- Reconnecting an account that uses Twitch’s retired Android sign-in preserves its original session while Twitch still accepts it. Removing an account asks for confirmation and warns when that original sign-in cannot be restored.
- Profile pictures now load for accounts connected through the browser or TV-app flow, too.
🛠 Other improvements in 1.44
- Copies moved using “Move to Applications” can update again. Opening an already running SwiftMiner, or repeating a start request from SwiftBot or the web dashboard, no longer restarts active miners or wrongly marks them as blocked.
- Campaign discovery keeps the last known list after a temporary search failure and cancels outdated searches when priorities change. Campaigns paused for no progress stay paused for 30 minutes, and waiting miners keep their channel-update connection and wake for the campaign they need.
- Miner cards show the reward actually being earned and explain when all available rewards for priority games are complete. Claimed rewards take up less space, approved-channel campaigns have a Limited badge, and the web dashboard remembers each browser’s completed-Drops filter.
- Diagnostic exports include seven days of logs, show progress and reveal the finished report in Finder. Settings backups and exports use a reliable macOS save dialog, and repetitive log messages are reduced.
- The web dashboard reopens as a single window. The Help Center has current guides and redirects for old links, plus an expanded account of SwiftMiner’s history.
